Are You Eating Enough to Lose Weight?

Not losing weight?

Then keep reading…

Have you ever considered that you might not be eating enough? I am constantly amazed by how many assessments reveal that people trying to lose fat are consuming as little as 800-1200 calories per day. While this may seem like enough, it's usually far below what the body needs just to function at rest.

Your metabolism, thyroid, liver, kidneys, and other vital systems require adequate fuel to function properly. Eating only 800-1200 calories per day can hinder these processes. If you exercise daily, your calorie needs increase even further! When you don’t consume enough calories, your body shifts into survival mode, holding onto fat and risking muscle loss, which slows your metabolism.

Important Reminder:

Every time you starve yourself in an effort to "lose weight," you are actually slowing down your metabolism and training your body to store fat more efficiently.

The Scale Doesn’t Tell the Whole Story

The number on the scale reflects your weight at a specific moment, but it doesn’t show how your body is changing. Focus on progress, not the scale! Eating 1-3 small meals a day isn’t enough. Instead, aim for 3 larger, balanced meals or 4-6 medium-sized meals to meet your body’s calorie needs.

Hydration Matters

Drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water every day to stay hydrated and support your metabolism.

Ask Yourself:

Do you want to look good only with your clothes on, or also without them? Super low-calorie diets and muscle loss won’t make you look or feel better in the long term—guaranteed! Eat for the body you want, not the body you have.
